Two A4 pages of reconciliation and tie-out checks in SQL, written on Clearstone's books from Follow the Money, in euros, as of 1 January 2027. Every query was run in DuckDB, and its real result is printed under it.
It covers control totals kept as a receipt, tying a reported figure back to its rows, counting rows and totals around a join (fan-out and lost rows), aggregating before a join, a FULL JOIN query that lists every difference by key, EXCEPT ALL for tables with no key, and a walk from the status label's overdue figure to the due dates' figure that closes at zero.
Page two finds a difference from its size (one row, a sign flip, two swapped digits), converts two amount columns to one signed column and checks it, shows rounded parts that do not add up and how DuckDB and pandas round halves differently, catches a batch loaded twice, and puts every check on the books into one query. It ends with a tie-out checklist.
The SQL is DuckDB, as in the LucidPlexus workbench, with a note on what SQL Server and MySQL lack. PDF to print, and an HTML version to read on screen.
