Two A4 pages: filter, sort, distinct values, count, sum by group, percent of total, conditional count, top n per group, lookup and join, pivot, conditional column, rank, running total, previous row, dates, text cleaning, missing values and removing duplicates, each written in DuckDB SQL, in pandas and as Excel formulas.

Three worked examples run on the LucidPlexus book datasets in all three tools. Where they agree, the same numbers come out three times. Where they do not, the sheet shows why: Excel's MATCH and COUNTIF ignore case, and pandas reads the text "None" as missing.

The SQL is DuckDB, with notes where other databases differ, and the pandas is pandas 3. Every Excel formula on the sheet was recalculated in LibreOffice Calc except FILTER, SORT, SORTBY, UNIQUE, XLOOKUP and TAKE, which the LibreOffice version used (24.2) does not have; those are shown, not run. They need Excel 2021 or later, and TAKE Excel 2024 or Microsoft 365.
